Artist Statement

Art is a conversation; between the material, the artist , and, eventually, the viewer. Art exists to be noticed, to make us notice what we otherwise might miss. As each artwork is created in the studio it starts as a narrative, a story about the artist and the material. It can be about the past, the present moment, or future hopes and dreams. As the final piece travels outside the studio walls it becomes an object of inspiration and reflection. In those lucky few instances it crosses the boundaries of the aesthetic and visual into the thoughtful and physical, becoming universal.

My artwork is an extension of my own thought process and life philosophy. I take pieces that hold their own individual story, join them with other pieces in hopes of creating a brand new visual, thought provoking message.
